We are looking to hire an experienced Associate Electrical Engineer to join our team of managers,
engineers, and designers, representing the industry's top talent.
Duties and responsibilities:
The position performs general electrical engineering work under the direct supervision of a project
manager for clients the company serves in various markets.
The position will apply fundamental engineering training, knowledge, and experience to deliver tasks
and projects including engineering studies and site assessment and investigation reports; power
distribution calculations for voltage drop, switchboards, panel boards, transformers, wire and cable tray
sizing, conduit fill, and Ampere Interrupting Capacity; electrical designs of one or more elements of a
project; preparation of Basis of Design (BOD); preparation of fully designed plans, specifications and
estimates (PSE), and other engineering reports, cost estimates, and construction support. The position
will coordinate with other team members and begin providing directions to others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The main duties are as follows, but not limited to:
The selected candidate will support the efforts of a Project Manager in team supervision and execution of
various electrical projects including:
Designing electric services for military and government facilities, industrial, commercial, and educational construction projects.
Developing lighting and power designs, site power design and planning, and emergency power design.
Types of projects may include new or renovations for office buildings, retail stores, industrial buildings, manufacturing and assembly plants, schools, medical and healthcare facilities, DoD and public agency operations and maintenance facilities, utilities, pump and lift stations, SCADA/Telemetry and others.
Designing power distribution and sub-transmission equipment, equipment configurations.
Performing electrical design involving high and low voltages.
Performing both power demand and fault current calculations.
Utility coordination.
Preparing cost estimations.
Permit processing.
Construction support.
Performing reviews for drawings, engineering calculations, and specifications by others.
Working as owners representative in review and approval process.
Qualifications:
Team leadership
Skills in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Bluebeam and AutoCAD Civil 3D
Excellent writing and communication skills
Ability to prepare engineering reports with the guidance of a project manager or senior
individual.
Preferred knowledge of public works and DoD agency processes
Education & Experiences:
A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college (ABET) is required.
A Masters degree is preferred
4-6 years of electrical engineering experience
EIT License (in California), preferred
Experience working with DoD agencies like the Navy will be considered a plus.
