The Technical Documentation Specialist develops, edits, formats, organizes, andย maintainsย technical and business documentation for Standard Nuclear. This role supports procedures, work instructions, controlled documents, reports, presentations, published materials, and other company documentation used across engineering, manufacturing, quality, business development, and leadership functions.ย 

This position also provides backup support for document control activities, including document formatting, routing, release, version control, metadata updates, records organization, and document management system support. The role helps ensure documents areย accurate, professional, properly controlled, easy to find, and aligned with company standards.ย 

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, strong with written communication, and comfortable working with technical information, controlled documentation, and polished internal or external-facing materials.ย 

RESPONSIBILITIESย ย 

Documentation Development & Editingย 

  • Develop, edit, format, andย maintainย procedures, work instructions, technical documents, reports, presentations, and supporting materialsย 
  • Work with engineers, operations, quality, and business teams to turn technical input into clear,ย accurate, usable documentationย 
  • Review documents for clarity, structure, formatting, grammar, consistency, and completenessย 
  • Standardize language, formatting, and organization across company documentsย 
  • Support development of templates, style guidance, and document standardsย 

Published & Business Materialsย 

  • Support preparation of polished materials for internal leadership, customers, partners, regulators, investors, or public-facing useย 
  • Edit and format presentations, project summaries, technical narratives, reports, and other business materialsย 
  • Ensure materials areย accurate, professional, consistent with company messaging, and appropriately reviewed before releaseย 
  • Coordinate feedback from technical reviewers, leadership, legal, quality, and other stakeholders as neededย 
  • Maintain strong attention to tone, audience, confidentiality, and technical accuracyย 

Document Control Supportย 

  • Provide backup support for document control workflows, including document intake, formatting, routing, review, approval, release, and archivingย 
  • Maintain version control and help ensure current documents areย properly organizedย and accessibleย 
  • Update document metadata, links, naming conventions, document marks, and release information in company systemsย 
  • Support document watermarking, signature routing, finalization, and controlled release processesย 
  • Assistย employees withย locatingย records, accessing documents, and following document control proceduresย 

Records, Systems & Audit Readinessย 

  • Organize andย maintainย electronic records in document management systems, SharePoint, and related company systemsย 
  • Ensure documents and records are complete,ย accurate, retrievable, and audit-readyย 
  • Support internal and external audits by helping gather, review, and organize requested documentationย 
  • Maintain document histories, revision records, approvals, and related supporting informationย 
  • Identifyย gaps, inconsistencies, or outdated information and coordinate updates with document ownersย 

Process Improvement & Coordinationย 

  • Help improve documentation workflows, templates, review processes, and system organizationย 
  • Support cleanup and organization of document libraries, metadata, folder structures, and document tracking toolsย 
  • Coordinate with quality, engineering, operations, business development, legal, leadership, and document control teams to move documents through review and releaseย 
  • Track document status, reviewer feedback, action items, and open issuesย 
  • Support special documentation projects, system transitions, and process improvement efforts as assignedย 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSย ย 

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Business, Technical Communication, Engineering, Science, or a related field; equivalent experience will be consideredย 
  • 2-5 years of experience in documentation, document control, records management, technical communication, proposal support, business documentation, or related workย 
  • Strong editing, proofreading, formatting, and document organization skillsย 
  • Experience creating or editing procedures, work instructions, technical reports, presentations, published materials, or controlled documentsย 
  • Experience with document management systems, SharePoint, metadata, version control, document routing, or release workflows preferredย 
  • Ability to work with technical subject matter experts and convert input into clear documentationย 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple documents, deadlines, reviewers, and prioritiesย 
  • Proficiencyย with Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and SharePointย 
  • Experience supporting audits, regulated documentation, quality systems, or controlled records is a plusย 
  • Experience in nuclear, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, energy, engineering, or another regulated technical environment is a plusย
