Fort Jesse Imaging Center is seeking a PRN MRI Technologist to join our patient-focused team in Normal, IL!
Position Status: PRN
Schedule: As needed for staffing coverage
Shift Opportunities: Saturdays, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM, with occasional weekday evening shifts
Location: Fort Jesse Imaging Center - Normal, IL

Job Summary
The MRI Technologist performs MRI exams while providing safe, high-quality, and compassionate patient care in an outpatient imaging setting.
Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and advanced MRI exams following established protocols.
  • Prepare, position, and monitor patients throughout their exams.
  • Review physician orders and patient history to ensure appropriate imaging.
  • Start IVs and administer contrast or medications as appropriate.
  • Ensure MRI images meet quality standards for interpretation.
  • Follow all MRI safety procedures and screening requirements.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Educate patients about procedures and answer questions.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and imaging records.
  • Assist with quality assurance activities and equipment/supply readiness.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and prepared exam rooms.
  • Work collaboratively with other technologists and imaging center staff.
  • Assist in other areas of the imaging center as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education & Requirements
  • Associate degree in Radiology or completion of an accredited two-year radiology program.
  • Current ARRT (Radiography) or ARMRIT registration required.
  • MRI advanced registry required upon hire for IDTF centers or within 12 months of employment for non-IDTF centers.
  • Must meet applicable state licensure requirements.

  • Knowledge of MRI procedures, protocols, and safety standards.
  • Ability to operate MRI and related imaging equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
