Job description

Summary: Under general supervision, safely operates a delivery truck and/or tractor trailer to pick up and deliver perishable food items. The driver is responsible for inspecting his/her assigned vehicles at the beginning of each shift and reported any maintenance problems immediately. Document work related tasks. Drivers also perform general customer service tasks such as invoicing customers, collecting payments, receive product returns, other job-related duties as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pick up and deliver perishable food items to customers.
  • When required assist in the packaging of products.
  • Build and maintain quality customer relationships
  • Ensures safe, accurate, timely, and efficient deliveries customers
  • Perform proper equipment maintenance as needed, monitor reefer temperature, and report damages in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with management and sales representatives to communicate customer concerns and resolutions
  • Perform daily pre/post trip inspection of vehicles
  • Complete daily paperwork
  • Collects payment from customers as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

Material Handling experience, Schedule flexibility, Punctuality, Dependability, Sorting experience, CDL License, Customer Service, DOT Regulation knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Commercial Driver License
  • Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 34 – 78 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Must be 18+ years of age
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must have a Commercial Driver License
  • Must have a clear DOT Health Medical card
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Able to read, write and communicate effectively, as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations
  • Must pass pre-employment testing (Drug Screen, Background Check, Physical Abilities Test)
  • 1 yr. Warehouse experience (preferably in produce industry)
  • 1 yr. Experience operating an electric pallet jack and/or forklift
