Job description

SUMMARY

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring established food safety and quality standards are consistently met. This role performs product grading, quality checks, and production monitoring activities to verify compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. The QC Technician evaluates samples, utilizes computers and iPads to accurately document inspection results, and communicates findings to the Quality Leadership Team.  All employees are expected to adhere to and actively promote Enfield Farms’ food safety standards, continuous improvement initiatives, and company values.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to)

•    Collect and inspect fruit samples and packaging materials to ensure compliance with USDA and customer specifications 
•    Accurately record inspection results and quality data in required paper and electronic documentation systems 
•    Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain 
•    Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors, managers, line operators and production employees
•    Monitor and document production practices accurately in real time
•    Ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices for self and employees are strictly enforced and correct/report non-conformances as required
•    Stock and maintain lab and production floor supplies, including personal protective equipment, soap, sanitizer stations, and paper towels 
•    Maintain a high standard of quality by verifying work for accuracy and completeness. 
•    Promptly document and report any food safety/quality concerns to Food Safety Team
•    Participate in all required annual, departmental, and job-specific training
•    Conduct x-ray/metal detector and check weigher verification checks
•    Collect shelf life and retain samples to send out to a third-party laboratory for pathogen and microbiological testing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•    Relevant experience or degree
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office
•    Strong communication skills
•    Bilingual English/Spanish preferred 
•    Ability to become competent in all relevant work instructions and product specifications within 30 days 

WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in cold (non-weather) conditions and in moderate to loud environments (hearing protection required). The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. Expect to work in teams and independently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee is required to stand and walk for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently bend, kneel, extend and walk upstairs. The employee occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds and infrequently up to 40 pounds.

RESUMEN

El Técnico en Control de Calidad es responsable de garantizar que se cumplan de forma constante los estándares establecidos de seguridad y calidad alimentaria. Este puesto realiza la clasificación de productos, controles de calidad y actividades de monitorización de la producción para verificar el cumplimiento de las políticas de la empresa, los requisitos regulatorios y las especificaciones del cliente. El Técnico Control de Calidad evalúa muestras, utiliza computadores y iPads para documentar con precisión los resultados de las inspecciones y comunica los hallazgos al Equipo de Liderazgo de Calidad.  Se espera que todos los empleados cumplan y promuevan activamente los estándares de seguridad alimentaria, las iniciativas de mejora continua y los valores de la empresa de Enfield Farms.

RESPONSABILIDADES LABORALES (no limitadas a)

•    Recoger e inspeccionar muestras de fruta y materiales de embalaje para garantizar el cumplimiento del USDA y las especificaciones del cliente 
•    Registrar con precisión los resultados de inspección y los datos de calidad en los sistemas de documentación en papel y electrónicos requeridos 
•    Mantener un entorno de trabajo limpio y organizado conforme a los principios de 5S: Ordenar, Ordenar, Brillar, Estandarizar y Sostener 
•    Comunicar de forma clara y eficaz con supervisores, gerentes, operadores de línea y empleados de producción
•    Supervisar y documentar las prácticas de producción con precisión en tiempo real
•    Asegurarse de que las Buenas Prácticas de Manufactura para uno mismo y los empleados se apliquen estrictamente y corregir/reportar las inconformidades según sea necesario
•    Almacenar y mantener suministros de laboratorio y de producción, incluyendo equipos de protección individual, jabón, estaciones de desinfectante y toallas de papel 
•    Mantener un alto estándar de calidad verificando la precisión y completitud del trabajo 
•    Documentar y reportar con prontitud cualquier preocupación de seguridad o calidad alimentaria al equipo de seguridad alimentaria
•    Participar en toda la formación anual, departamental y específica del puesto obligatoria
•    Realizar verificaciones de rayos x/detectores de metal y controladoras de peso
•    Recolectar muestras de vida útil y de retención para enviarlas a un laboratorio externo para pruebas de patógenos y microbiológicas
CALIFICACIONES PREFERIDAS

•    Experiencia o título relevante
•    Dominio de Microsoft Office
•    Fuertes habilidades de comunicación
•    Se prefiere inglés/español bilingüe 
•    Capacidad para llegar a ser competente en todas las instrucciones de trabajo relevantes y especificaciones de producto en un plazo de 30 días 

CONDICIONES LABORALES
Mientras realiza las funciones de este trabajo, el empleado trabaja en condiciones frías (no meteorológicas) y en ambientes moderados a ruidosos (se requiere protección auditiva). El empleado trabaja frecuentemente cerca de piezas mecánicas móviles. Espera trabajar en equipo y de forma independiente.
