Location: 100% Remote

Duration: Part Time (20 hours per week)

Primary Skills: Project Estimator with EPC, Mining or Construction, and Oil & Gas related projects and heavy Industrial projects.

Job Description

The Client is seeking an experienced Project Estimator to support mining, construction, and Oil & Gas related projects. The Project Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for capital and operational projects, using industry-standard estimating tools and methodologies.

This is a remote position, requiring strong collaboration with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for mining, construction, and Oil & Gas projects
  • Develop conceptual, preliminary, and definitive estimates using RSMeans
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, scope documents, and schedules
  • Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Support project budgeting, cost control, and change management
  • Evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids and proposals
  • Identify cost risks, assumptions, and opportunities for optimization
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to validate estimates
  • Maintain historical cost data and benchmarking for future projects

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ Years - Proven experience as a Project Estimator in Mining and Construction environments
  • Experience supporting Oil & Gas projects is a strong plus
  • Hands-on experience with RSMeans estimating tools
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and cost drivers
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Proficiency in Excel and cost estimating software
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Mining, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
