Job Description:
Job Summary
This Physical Therapist (PT) will provide care to young adult thru geriatric populations in a variety of settings to include IP Rehab, SNF, Acute C are (specific to elective total joints) and OP Same Day Surgery. Following physician orders, responsible to assess, develop, and implement treatment plans directed at a minimum to prevention, management of conditions and/or rehabilitation. Treatments focus on returning patients to as normal a pattern of movement and functioning as possible through the use of therapeutic exercise, activity, modalities, and education that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and improve/prevent/restore impairments and limitations resulting from disease or injury. PT's may be hired for a specific unit but are required to float to all units for coverage. Specialty teams for trained therapists include wound care and lymphedema.
Direct care staff are required to complete all Hip and Knee Replacement Program curriculum and annual education module(s) assigned.
Job Requirements
Education
• Required: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program
• Preferred: Masters or Doctorate from an accredited program of Physical Therapy
Experience
• No prior experience required
Skills
• Good clinical expertise, communication skills, human relations skills and organizational skills required.
• Self-motivated individual who can work independently with little direct supervision required
• Has demonstrated interest in professional growth by attendance at continuing education workshops, and applications of new principles and/or techniques.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
• Required: Active Missouri licensure for Physical Therapy. (Temporary licensure not accepted)
• Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire
