Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients, whether in inpatient or outpatient settings, and develop customized treatment strategies
- Implement physical therapy techniques that emphasize mobility, strength, balance, and overall functional improvement
- Work closely with nurses, physicians, case managers, and other rehabilitation professionals to ensure best possible outcomes
- Provide education and guidance to patients and their families regarding therapeutic objectives, discharge processes, and rehabilitation exercises
- Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, and patient progress as per facility and regulatory requirements
- Engage in care team meetings and interdisciplinary discussions to foster coordinated and effective patient care
Education
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) or a similar degree from an accredited institution
Certifications
- Current state licensure as a DPT / Doctor of Physical Therapy
- CPR certification preferred
- Additional specialized certifications (e.g., geriatric, neurological) are advantageous but not mandatory
Skills
- Prior experience in physical therapy strongly preferred
- Ability to effectively treat patients facing complex medical and mobility challenges
