Job description

We are looking for a skilled, highly organized Medical Assistant with a professional demeanor and positive attitude to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will assist claimants by completing Intake forms, obtaining medical histories, completing physical exam forms, including ROM, and serving as a chaperone to the doctor in the exam room.  Responsible for having all medical charts available for doctors at the time of the exam, downloading imaging studies on CD for the doctor to review. 


SPANISH SPEAKING IS REQUIRED

Position is 30 – 40 hours per week.  Travel required, with mileage/toll reimbursement.


Responsibilities:


  • Administrative responsibilities include greeting claimants as they arrive, checking claimants in, obtaining ID, and assisting with required paperwork.
  • Clinical duties include assisting claimants with completing intake forms, obtaining medical histories, communicating information obtained by the claimant to the doctor, completing exam forms, including recording ROM, and serving as a chaperone to the doctor in the exam room.

Qualifications:


  • Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • A minimum of one year of related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Must be available to travel to the above-mentioned Counties, on a rotating schedule, averaging three / four days per week and 1 Saturday per month.
  • Experience in a medical office preferred.
  • Must be detail-oriented, have a professional demeanor, and be reliable. 
  • The candidate must be able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions where clarification is needed. 
  • Must have the ability to multitask, stay organized, and be a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Must be available to travel to the above-mentioned Counties, on a rotating schedule, averaging three / four days per week and 1 Saturday per month.
  • On non-clinical days, working in our corporate office located in Bloomfield
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a reliable vehicle.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a PLUS.
  • Handling of Radiology Studies is a PLUS.
  • Computer skills are required.
  • Friendly, outgoing, upbeat personality and attention to detail is a must.
  • Salary is based on experience.
