JOB Posting

JOB TITLE: Dockhand

DEPARTMENT: Docks

REPORTS TO: Dockmaster

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Dockhand may be the first person our guests interact with when arriving to the marina. It is important that they deliver superior marina experience to all our guests. Dockhands assist the Dockmaster and other Dockhands in all duties related to the marina. Doing so while being friendly, positive and accommodating, they also keep the area clean, safe, and well maintained.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assist customers and guests with general boating needs per the direction of the Dockmaster including but not limited to securing boats to docks, black water pump out, waste disposal, and general facility sanitation
  2. Carry out routine cleaning duties that meet established quality standards for all marina related operations; ensures the recognized standards are maintained and that quality, and delivery commitments are met
  3. Comply with all OSHA and environmental regulations, adhering to all site rules, processes, policies, and expectations, including proper wear of PPE as required for a specified task or work area
  4. Exhibit a friendly, professional working relationship with coworkers, members, guests and vendors
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  1. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers
  2. Some knowledge of marina operations or willingness to be trained in them
  3. Proven track record or innate ability to interface with customers positively and successfully
  4. Ability to work independently to achieve goals and targets
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to thirty (30) pounds
  2. Must be able to swim or be willing to wear a personal flotation device in instances of emergency
  3. Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally
  4. Must be able to express oneself and effectively convey directions and clear instructions to a team of individuals
