Job description

Part-Time Security Officer

Job Title: Unarmed Security Officer

Location: Erie, PA

Schedule: Tuesday–Thursday, 10pm–4am

Pay: $12.50/hour

Primary Purpose

Provide unarmed security services at assigned sites, focusing on observing, reporting, and patrols. Monitor and document activity; enforce post orders and site rules; respond to incidents and emergencies.

Essential Duties
  • Perform security duties per Post Order Manual and company/site policies
  • Conduct foot patrols; may include vehicle, golf cart, and/or bicycle patrols
  • Identify and report security threats, hazards, and emergency situations
  • Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity reports (DARs)
  • Follow site-specific procedures; assist with emergency response as needed
  • Support site roles as assigned (customer service, loss prevention, lobby/visitor reception, loading dock security, etc.)
  • Contact appropriate personnel (Site Supervision, Field Management, etc.) per post orders
  • Maintain attendance, grooming, and customer service standards
  • Participate in required training and orientations
  • Respond to incidents consistent with Post Orders and the Use of Force Policy; ensure proper reporting and notifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Military experience or security/career training desirable
  • 1–3 years professional experience preferred (security, law enforcement, military, and/or customer service highly desired)
  • Required state registration/permit/license; successful background investigation and any required pre-employment drug/alcohol testing
  • Maintain active licensing/registrations; carry required documents on duty
  • May require valid driver’s license and clean driving record (as determined by SMSSI)
  • Reliable transportation to/from work
  • Strong written communication for clear, legible reports
  • Excellent customer service and de-escalation skills
  • Professional judgment, communication, and ability to work as a team
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
