Job description

WMHS Dock Worker

Oversees the offload of a APHIS, RMW, hazardous/non hazardous waste environment including but not limited to: container inspections, labeling of containers, preparing and packaging hazardous waste lab packs, sorting hazardous waste while complying to federal, state, and local rules and regulations, also consulting with the organization's staff for best practices.

  • Acts as a first point of contact liaison for our maritime customers at the port responsible for manifest reconciliation, tracking documents.
  • Manifest and coordinate the transport of waste safely and according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Acts as liaison in resolving issues/concerns for clients including, but not limited to, request for extra pick-ups, request for change in pick-ups, and request for containers.
  • Performs various regulatory compliance and safety tasks. Performs weekly inspections and maintains inspection records.
  • Ensure nothing is pending prior to leaving the pier

Education/Experience:

  • 2+ years work experience or Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrates strong working knowledge of Environmental/Regulatory rules and requirements includ-our client RCRA, DOT, DEA, OSHA a plus.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the segregation, disposition, and transportation or multiple waste streams.
  • Possession of TWIC (security) card and 40-hour HAZWOPER required. Possession of CHMM, Advanced DOT, and HAZCOM certification(s) a plus.
  • Maintain high-end relationships with client(s) with positive, professional leadership skills a must.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage account(s) on a daily basis, as assigned.
  • Must work safely and carefully to prevent injury to self and others while driving, loading, and unloading vehicle.
  • May require mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify and understand customer needs; takes appropriate actions to en-sure customer needs are met and proactively searches of ways to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage own time, activities, and resources. Identify specific activities re-quired to accomplish objectives, rank them in order of importance, and coordinate and take action to achieve desired results. Prioritize multiple activities and projects.
  • Demonstrates the ability to initiate independent action as needed to accomplish work.
