Job description

Marina Dock Attendant / Dock Hand — Ocean Havens Marinas

Looking for a fun, hands-on opportunity on Boston Harbor? Charlestown Marina is hiring dock hands for the rest of the season. Our customers are the driving force behind everything we do, so the right person is cheerful, knowledgeable, and courteous at all times, providing top-notch service while projecting a professional image both on-site and off. Safety is just as important as service in this role.

Schedule: We operate 8AM–6PM, Monday through Sunday. Shifts are generally 8 hours, either 8AM–4PM or 10AM–6PM. Weekend and holiday availability is required, and this is a very busy short summer season, Our property operates year round, so this roll has an opportunity to continue into the winter months.

Responsibilities:
Provide first-class customer service in every interaction. Perform daily opening and closing duties, dock walks, meter readings, and pump-outs, following equipment sanitation procedures. Maintain grounds, docks, walkways, restrooms, and equipment. Assist with special events, which may fall outside normal operating hours. Learn marina rates and policies, and bring a proactive, honest, and professional work ethic to the team. Perform other duties as assigned, always with an eye toward the safety of yourself, customers, and marina property.

Position Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to operate a VHF radio, hand tools, and power tools. Able to read, write, and use basic computer programs. Able to swim. Strong customer service instincts and attention to detail. Knowledge of boating, Boston, and the surrounding area is a plus, but not required — full training is provided, and all are encouraged to apply.
