Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated and scientifically curious candidate who recently received their Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD). The candidate must have >3 years of experience in cancer and/ or mammalian cell biology during their graduate training, with preferred candidates having experience in the fields of ovarian cancer, metastasis, redox biology and /or mitochondrial biology. Candidates with strong technical skill sets related to the above areas of expertise will be prioritized, including confocal microscopy, molecular biology (e.g. CRISPR gene editing), in vitro and vivo tumor models, and/or metabolomics and mitochondrial functional assays. Successful candidates will have excellent scientific communications and writing skills, technical abilities, perform all data analysis, and have the ability to lead an independent research project. They must be excellent at trouble shooting, open to learning new techniques, and contribute intellectually to the project. It is anticipated that the post-doc will be pro-active in seeking fellowship funding, if applicable. The post-doc will also be involved in training and mentoring junior colleagues, graduate students and undergraduate researchers, participate in weekly lab meetings and Hillman run research activities including Journal clubs, research in progress presentations and attend weekly research seminars. The post-doc will also contribute to the overall running and maintenance of the lab with other lab members. The Hillman cancer center will provide all the necessary research and career development resources to ensure the post-doctoral candidate will thrive and gain the necessary skills towards an independent research career.
