Job description

Data Scientist

As a data scientist at Booz Allen, you will turn complex data sets into useful information to solve global challenges across federal agencies and beyond.

Responsibilities

You’ll work closely with clients to understand their questions, dig into data-rich environments to locate the pieces of their information puzzle, develop data products, create visual narratives, and brief senior leaders at the Department of the Army. You will collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to provide critical analytics that enable successful execution of IT portfolio management.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics
  • Experience with the Department of the Army (DoA)
  • Proficiency with Databricks, Tableau, SQL, Python, or Qlik
  • Experience working within the WDP, designing and maintaining dashboards, developing metrics, and ingesting, cleaning, transforming, and loading data
  • Experience presenting data products to DoA senior leadership
  • Secret clearance (or eligibility to obtain one)
  • Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience with Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Natural Language Processing
  • Experience with GitLab
  • Ability to translate complex data analytics methodologies to non‑technical audiences
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills
Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Secret clearance is required.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary ranges from $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 annually, adjusted for location and experience. Benefits include health, life, disability, financial, and retirement plans, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care. All full‑time and part‑time employees working at least 20 hours per week are eligible for the full benefit package. This posting will close within 90 days from the posting date.

Work Model
  • Remote – you may need to work in person at a Booz Allen or customer facility on occasion.
  • Hybrid – you will be expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, with potential customer visits.
  • Onsite – work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility.
