DNA Laboratory Technician
DNA Solutions is one of the nation's leading Forensics and DNA Analysis laboratories utilizing state-of-the-art science and technology to provide insight from DNA samples for geneological purposes as well as for forensics for some of the country's major crime labs.
Position Summary...
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for work required for the accurate and efficient processing of samples for all aspects of DNA analysis. The Laboratory Technician is directly responsible for performing assays in the physical, chemical, biological or life sciences by collecting and preparing samples, carrying out experiments, making measurements with scientific equipment, recording results and presenting results for critical analysis.
Position Requirements...
  • four-year degree, preferably in biology, chemistry, forensic science or other science related field
  • ...or laboratory training specifically in biotechnology from an accredited institution
  • Additional course work specific to the processes and procedures performed in the laboratory is highly desirable
  • Experience in laboratory techniques
  • A high level of organization and multi-tasking
  • Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish defined goals.
  • Ability to produce accurate and detailed work
Physical Work Environment...
  • Performs work in a laboratory setting and works with sensitive DNA material
  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend and lift within normal parameters.
  • Must have good eyesight and normal color vision in order to use a microscope and to analyze samples
  • Must be able to work well with others and to communicate effectively
