Job description

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

We are seeking two qualified Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to support a federal healthcare laboratory program in Washington, DC. This role supports DNA specimen collection and Tuberculosis (TB) testing services within a structured government clinical environment. This is a long-term, stable opportunity with consistent weekday hours.

Schedule

โ€ข Mondayโ€“Friday

โ€ข 7:30 AM โ€“ 4:00 PM (30-minute lunch)

โ€ข No overtime

Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties

โ€ข Perform DNA collection using buccal swab kits in accordance with federal protocols

โ€ข Administer Mantoux Tuberculin Skin Tests (TST)

โ€ข Read and document TB test results within required 48โ€“72-hour window

โ€ข Maintain proper chain of custody for all specimens

โ€ข Secure and prepare samples for end-of-day shipment

Documentation & Compliance

โ€ข Record all activity in electronic tracking systems

โ€ข Maintain daily logs of testing performed

โ€ข Document no-shows and refusals

โ€ข Maintain inventory of collection kits and supplies

โ€ข Ensure compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and confidentiality standards

Reporting & Administrative Support

โ€ข Assist with preparation of monthly activity reports

โ€ข Report operational issues, incidents, or safety concerns immediately

Minimum Qualifications

โ€ข Active, current, unrestricted LPN license (DC or any U.S. jurisdiction accepted)

โ€ข Current CPR certification

โ€ข Minimum one (1) year of clinical nursing experience

โ€ข Experience with specimen collection, TB testing, or public health programs preferred

โ€ข Must be at least 21 years of age

โ€ข Must be able to pass federal background investigation, fingerprinting, and drug screening

Security & Clearance Requirements

โ€ข Federal background check and security clearance approval prior to start

โ€ข Execution of Non-Disclosure Agreement

โ€ข Possible Public Trust investigation (if assignment exceeds 180 days)
