Job description

Nuclear Medicine Technologist

No Nights, Weekends & Holidays! $50-$52 hourly + $10,000 sign-on bonus!

We offer an excellent compensation package: $50-$52 per hour, $10,000 sign-on bonus plus an annual profit-share bonus of 4%, pay the hourly rate door-to-door for mobile positions, mileage reimbursement for all but 60 miles/trip, cell phone stipend, clothing allowance and much more!

We are seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our mobile team! The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will drive the mobile unit to various cities within 3 hours of Sioux Falls and perform patient studies. Routes are subject to change based upon business needs.

In addition to providing patient care, mobile nuclear medicine technologists drive the mobile unit to customer locations. In these situations, the technologist is responsible for the maintenance of the truck which includes checking and maintaining the fire extinguishers, patient lift, smoke detectors and emergency lighting and scheduling and documenting preventive maintenance as necessary. Technologists inspect the truck before and after each trip and submit a report indicating truck conditions. Technologists maintain driver logs according to DOT regulations.

Essential Duties

  1. Performs imaging procedures that meet the quality expectations of the patient, referring physician, and radiologist.
  2. Follows the orders of the referring physician and protocols specified by the radiologist.
  3. Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed by the physician order.
  4. Views images to ensure quality of pictures and transferring images to the Radiologist for interpretation and verifying the images and patient information arrived correctly.
  5. Explains medical procedures to patients and answering any questions they may have.
  6. Follows safety procedures to protect the patients and themselves from unnecessary radiation exposure.
  7. Monitors and observes any unusual reactions patients may have to drugs.
  8. Maintains detailed procedural records.
  9. Complies with safety and quality procedures and initiatives by strictly following safety policies, rules and safe work methods, making suggestions to support continuous improvements in safety, promptly correcting or reporting safety hazards or unsafe conditions, and promptly reporting injuries for timely diagnoses and medical treatment.
  10. This position requires travel up to 100% of the time.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Our standard work week is five days a week Monday-Friday, even if you aren't scheduled to work all five days. The position does not have a permanent fixed schedule because our route assignments are subject to change at any time. You will be required to work an alternative schedule within the region as needed to provide backup coverage for leaves of absences, vacations, unplanned absences, etc., on unscheduled days.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management, analytical, organizational, empathy, critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task while maintaining great patient care as well as superior quality of exams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
  • The ability to work well independently with limited direct supervision.
  • PC proficiency to access internet websites, review on-line documentation and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Testing

  • CNMT or ARRT (N)
  • CPR certified;
  • CDL B endorsement and DOT annual physical certification
  • Mandatory education provided by DMS
  • State licensure if required

To ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, the following vaccinations, titers, or declinations and health requirements are required: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella); Varicella (Chickenpox); Hepatitis B Series; Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis); annual Influenza vaccine; COVID-19 vaccination, if required by facility policy; Tuberculosis screening (annual or per facility guidelines)
