Part-Time MRI Technologist

$60/hour!

Description

For 50 years, DMS Health Technologies has had the honor and privilege of delivering quality medical imaging care and service to our partners and their patients. Every day, we take that experience, expertise and direction that comes with 50 years to be leaders who deliver even greater quality imaging, care, and service.

We are seeking a MRI Technologist to work part-time weekdays/daytime hours, to provide additional coverage in Richmond, South Hill, Tappahannock, VA. Routes are subject to change based upon business needs. We offer an annual profit-share bonus, pay the hourly rate door-to-door, and reimburse mileage for all but 60 miles/trip.

Essential Duties

  1. Operating magnetic resonance imaging machines and creating diagnostic images of patients according to their physicians' instructions.
  2. Documenting patients' health histories, preparing them for scans, and keeping them relaxed and comfortable during the procedure.
  3. Following the orders of the referring physician and protocols and administering prescribed medications
  4. Uses knowledge of imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy to create high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists and other medical professionals.
  5. Transferring images and verifying the images and patient information arrived correctly.
  6. Complies with safety and quality procedures and initiatives by strictly following safety policies, rules and safe work methods, making suggestions to support continuous improvements in safety, promptly correcting or reporting safety hazards or unsafe conditions, promptly reporting injuries for timely diagnoses and medical treatment, and by participating in safety processes such as safety committee, safety inspections, etc.
  7. This position may be required to travel up to 100% of the time.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PC proficiency to access job related internet websites, review on-line documentation and experience using Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, analytical, critical thinking, organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work well independently.
  • The ability to follow instructions in stressful environments.
  • Superb bedside manner and the ability to work with a variety of personalities.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Testing

  • ARRT
  • CPR certified
  • Mandatory education provided by DMS
  • State licensure if required

To ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, the following vaccinations, titers, or declinations and health requirements are required: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella); Varicella (Chickenpox); Hepatitis B Series; Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis); annual Influenza vaccine; COVID-19 vaccination, if required by facility policy; Tuberculosis screening (annual or per facility guidelines)

  • Carry and lift with the ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or exam
