Job description

Job Overview

The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing visual and mechanical inspections to ensure parts and materials meet quality standards. Pay Rate: $19.25 - 22.80/hour DOE.

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll make a difference by:

  • Performing visual and mechanical inspections using tools such as calipers, micrometers, pin gages, bore gages, height gages, angle protractors, and optical comparators
  • Conducting quality assessments on incoming materials, in-process parts, and outgoing products
  • Verifying parts and interpreting blueprints for dimensional and visual checks
  • Applying GD&T principles and functional knowledge of metrology
  • Initiating and addressing discrepancies or non-conformances
  • Investigating root causes of non-conformance and determining disposition
  • Developing and implementing procedures to improve process control efficiency
  • Ensuring documentation complies with ISO9001-2015 and DMC Power quality requirements
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting audits and certifications
  • Managing database systems for quality documentation
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 1-3 years of experience in quality control or manufacturing inspection
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (preferred)
  • Experience in operating a CMM (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and metrology
  • Knowledge of tooling and hydraulics (preferred)
  • Familiarity with power/utility industry or substation projects (preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
