Summary

DMC is currently looking for a Health, Safety, and Environment Coordinator to join our team based in Tucsan, Arizona. The HSE Coordinator is responsible for providing subject matter expertise and support in achieving HSE objectives. The Health Safety & Environment Coordinator assists in developing the HSE components to support the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the HSE Management system.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the development and revision of policies, procedures and programs.
  • Conducts inspections of all facilities.
  • Ensures proper training of all employees in operation, safety and maintenance functions.
  • Communicates and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with DMC’s HSMS.
  • Ensures that all HSE reporting is accurate, complete and distributed as per the DMC HSE Management System.
  • Facilitates the investigation of incidents, accidents and injuries.
  • Facilitates the compilation and submission of accident/incident reports required by DMC Mining Services and regulatory agencies.
  • Cooperates in preparation of materials and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
  • Participates in the administration of the workers compensation program, including the coordination of modified duties.
  • Maintains safety files and training records.
  • Plans and conducts inspection and safety meetings with crews.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.
  • Assists in conducting needs analysis, development and delivery of safety education topics.
  • Facilitates risk assessments.
  • Represents the organization in the community and industry with respect to safety group programs.
  • Purchases and assists with the procurement of PPE supplies.
  • Assists with the orientation process of new employees.
Qualifications
  • Underground mining experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other related regulations.
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions.
  • Computer knowledge and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
