Sales Manager - Private Pay

Thrive Homes

Leawood, KS

Full-time

Life, Retirement, PTO

Posted 21 days ago

Job description

Who We Are

Thrive Homes is a Leawood, Kansas-based technology-enabled general contracting company that specializes in clinically-guided, accessible home modifications. Our mission is reflected in our name - we provide services that allow our clients to thrive! By integrating technology with a nationwide network of contractors across 14 states and growing, we deliver customized home modifications that enhance quality of life and promote independent living. We are dedicated to transforming the construction and home modification industry by providing fast responses, accurate quotes, high-quality work, and honest pricing. Having built a strong foundation serving Medicaid recipients, we're now launching a private pay division - bringing the same quality and speed to homeowners who pay directly, starting with beautiful, accessible bath remodels.

Job Summary

We're looking for a proven in-home closer ready to build something of their own. As Sales Manager - Private Pay, you'll start in the field: refining and implementing our in-home sales process and personally closing bath remodel and home modification projects across the Kansas City metro. Once the process is proven and producing, you'll recruit and train a sales team to backfill your selling role, then lead the expansion of the private pay program into all of Thrive's markets. This is a true player-coach opportunity with a clear path to Director of Sales as the team and markets grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Refine, build, and implement our private pay in-home sales process - presentation, pricing, financing options, follow-up cadence, and CRM pipeline management - starting with our bath remodeling line.
  • Run in-home sales appointments across the Kansas City metro and personally close private pay bath remodel and home modification projects.
  • Partner with ownership and marketing to build a predictable appointment pipeline; track and optimize close rate, average ticket, cost per lead, and revenue per appointment.
  • Document the full sales playbook - scripts, in-home presentation, quoting, financing, and production handoff - so it can be taught and repeated.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and coach sales representatives to backfill your in-home selling role as the process proves out.
  • Develop your team through ride-alongs, appointment reviews, and KPI-based coaching.
  • Launch the private pay sales program in each of Thrive's markets, adapting the playbook and building local teams.
  • Own the division's sales targets, forecasting, and pipeline reporting to ownership.
  • Collaborate with operations and production to ensure accurate quotes, smooth handoffs, and a customer experience that generates referrals and reviews.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in in-home, one-call-close sales - comfortable presenting, pricing, and asking for the sale in a customer's home.
  • Experience building or materially improving a sales process, not just following one.
  • Experience hiring, training, or managing salespeople - or a demonstrated readiness to step into leadership.
  • Strong CRM discipline; comfortable being measured by, and managing to, the numbers.
  • Self-starter who thrives in the ambiguity of building a new division from the ground up.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; daily local travel with periodic multi-state travel as we expand.

Nice to Have

  • Bath or kitchen remodeling industry experience (dealer or franchise background a plus).
  • Familiarity with consumer financing programs (e.g., GreenSky, Synchrony).
  • Experience launching new territories or markets.
  • Experience selling to seniors and aging-in-place buyers.

Why Join Us

  • Ground-floor leadership of a new division, with a clear promotion path to Director of Sales as the team and markets grow.
  • You build the playbook - you don't inherit someone else's.
  • The upside of a startup with the stability of an established company: existing operations, installation capacity, and a footprint spanning 14 states and growing.
  • Mission-driven work that helps people live safely and independently - and looks great doing it.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission on personal sales, with leadership incentives/team-performance related comp as you build the team. Our benefit offerings include: Life and AD&D, Voluntary Life, Short- and Long-Term Disability, Accident and Critical Illness, PTO, paid holidays, and 401(k).
