Job description

While our main business location is in Auburn, Washington, this is a hybrid/remote position open to qualified candidates who permanently reside in Western Washington.

This position handles aftermarket sales and new customer calls and requires substantial knowledge of items sold. Deals with a diverse group of external callers as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Answer and return calls not assigned to other sales staff within 24 hours.
  • Maintain knowledge of products and services and explain how they can benefit individual customers.
  • Identify customer problems or needs and recommend products accordingly.
  • Provide accurate and timely quotes and delivery dates and follow up on quotes regularly.
  • Prepare Sales Orders and secure payment for COD customers in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Retain core customers by providing excellent customer service.
  • Consult with customers after sales to resolve problems and provide ongoing support.
  • Participate in ongoing product training.
  • Organize and prioritize large volumes of information, calls and customer requests.

Job Qualifications

Required Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Required Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience in the door, frame, hardware, construction materials, sales, project management, or related industry. Equivalent combinations of directly relevant experience and training may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong customer service and professional communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with business technology, including Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Bluebeam and Comsense is preferred.
  • Knowledge of hollow metal, Division 8 hardware, or related construction materials.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems, and follow established procedures.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply product, quote, order, and customer information accurately.

Compensation

The hourly wage range for this non-exempt position is $26.44 to $40.87 per hour. Actual compensation will be based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, training, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs.
This position is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal and Washington state wage and hour laws.

This position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on Company performance, individual performance, and applicable plan terms.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

This position is primarily desk-based and requires frequent computer, keyboard, phone, email, and business system use. The position may occasionally require moving or transporting office supplies or equipment up to 15 pounds. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information, review written and electronic materials, and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and coworkers, with or without reasonable accommodation.
