DESCRIPTION:
As the Supervisor of inbound and inventory, you will oversee inbound operations and inventory management processes at Thermo Fisher Scientific's Bridgewater, NJ facility. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring inventory accuracy, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance across distribution and warehouse operations while leading a high-performing team that supports efficient material flow and customer service
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Lead the inventory control team to achieve departmental goals, inventory accuracy targets, and operational objectives.
  • Supervise and ensure all inventory control activities are performed in accordance with company procedures, quality standards, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, productivity, compliance, and cost reduction.
  • Coordinate daily inventory control and warehouse activities, including receiving, putaway, storage, picking, shipping, and inventory transactions.
  • Generate and maintain inventory performance metrics and monthly KPI reports for management review.
  • Support cycle count programs, annual physical inventories, inventory audits, and reconciliation activities.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP requirements, company policies, and DEA regulations related to controlled substances.
  • Participate in the Corporate Controlled Substance Program (CSP) and support site compliance activities and audits.
  • Monitor domestic and international shipments to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and company requirements.
  • Lead daily management meetings to communicate operational priorities, safety initiatives, quality expectations, and performance metrics.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor employees to build organizational capability and support career growth opportunities.
  • Ensure sufficient staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to support daily operations and future business growth.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement, Finance, Quality, and Logistics teams to resolve inventory and operational challenges.
  • Support Quality Assurance activities, including internal and external audits, corrective actions, and compliance initiatives.
  • Assist with the development, review, and maintenance of SOPs, work instructions, and inventory control processes.
  • Review inventory transactions, operational reports, and productivity metrics to identify improvement opportunities and ensure data accuracy.
  • Support safety programs, incident investigations, and corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with global and site leadership to implement best practices, standard processes, and operational improvements.
  • Ensure timely reporting and communication of inventory status, operational performance, and compliance metrics to internal stakeholders.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily receiving operations to ensure materials are received, inspected, and processed accurately and efficiently while meeting operational and service level requirements.
  • Monitor receiving workflows, staffing levels, and resource allocation to maintain productivity and support business demands.
  • Lead investigations into receiving discrepancies, damaged materials, and inventory variances, implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed.
  • Support employee training and development by ensuring team members are qualified on receiving processes, systems, and standard operating procedures.

HOW YOU WILL GET HERE:
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in manufacturing, warehousing, supply chain, operations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, distribution, or supply chain environments.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory, team lead, or people management experience.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or life sciences preferred.
  • Experience supporting DEA-controlled substances programs or highly regulated inventory environments is advantageous.

KNOWLEDGE:
  • Inventory Management and Inventory Control Principles
  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP Systems

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Please note that this role requires working in an office, traditional warehouse, and chemical manufacturing setting.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided, including safety glasses protection, hi-visibility outerwear, and closed-toed footwear.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting may be required, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unaided is necessary.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in New Jersey is $72,000.00-$100,000.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
