Job Description:

Pick, pack and load product from the distribution center to delivery trucks, manually or with forklifts, dollies, or hand trucks. Work second shift hours which include varying end times.

Work Hours: 5:00pm Start Time

Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Read customer order, work order, or shipping order to determine items to be picked and loaded for customer
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets to be loaded on delivery trucks
  • Load product on trucks as required in predetermined order
  • Ensure product is not damaged and is loaded in a manner that allows for ease in sorting and selecting upon delivery
  • Perform equipment inspections and complete log sheets at the beginning of every shift
  • Clean distribution center and plug all necessary equipment into charging stations at the end of every shift
  • Follow OSHA and safety standards, report violations to direct supervisor (DC Supervisor - 2nd Shift)
  • Other duties, as required

Physical Demands:

  • Job requires employees to be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Repetitive, physically demanding work and regularly required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel, and sort and load
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk and hear
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move excessive weight (50 pounds or more)
  • Required to use and read computer and scanner screens, communicate required reporting
  • Expected to maintain certain levels of productivity and accuracy
  • Work second shift hours

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to communicate and comprehend both written and oral information
  • Competence in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to operate necessary equipment (forklift, stock picker, two-wheeler, wrapping machine, dollies, carts)
  • Must be certified by Acorn Distributors on all equipment as required by OSHA within 90 days
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of six (6) months to (1) year of experience in a distribution center
