Job description

Job Title: Inventory Specialist

Atlantic Tire Distributors is currently seeking a full-time Inventory Specialist to join our team in Lynchburg, VA! Summary:

We are seeking a self-motivated Inventory Specialist to join our team. This exciting opportunity offers the ability to join of one the most successful, respected, and growing companies in the tire industry. The inventory specialist is responsible for maintaining records of inventory within the warehouse. Able to research and troubleshoot both physically and systematically all inventory goods.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the competencies and or ability required. Essential Tasks and Responsibilities; include but not limited to:

  • Research the history of physical and systemic goods within the Warehouse.
  • Responsible for the annual physical inventory and managing a team of counters.
  • Operate motorized material handling equipment to safely move product.
  • Perform cycle counts.
  • Assist other personnel as needed to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Run daily variance report and perform research.
  • Reconcile discrepancies in inventory.
  • Issue credits to customers and put away return product.
  • Handle any damaged product and remove from warehouse.
  • Release orders for picking and help load trucks.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Act as a backup driver occasionally.
  • Assist management with any other duties assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge: Knowledge of product flow and inventory within a distribution environment
  • Experience: Familiarity with current software, methods, tools and equipment (including technology) used in distribution operations
  • Communication: Ability to carry out oral and written instructions and communicate clearly
  • Operation and Control: Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
  • Time Management: Managing one’s own time.
  • Extent Flexibility: the ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Static Strength: the ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
  • Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment: Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts and order pickers.
  • Performing General Physical Activities: Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.
  • Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material: Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Making Decisions and Solving Problems: Analyzing information and evaluation results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The employee must regularly lift up to 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of inventory experience, 1 year working directly in a distribution or warehouse environment
  • Minimum High School diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability work Monday through Friday and occasionally on Saturdays.
