Description
The Seasonal Distribution Driver serves as support to the Distribution Driver and Warehouse Coordinator during periods of high-volume donations. The Seasonal Distribution Driver partners with the Distribution Driver (route execution) and Warehouse Coordinator (inventory, logistics, and scheduling), while also providing organizational and logistical support within the Phoenix Rescue Mission warehouse as needed. This role supports increased operational demand during peak seasons, including Code:Red summer operations and expanded donation volume.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Follow direction from the Warehouse Manager, while collaborating with the Distribution Driver and Warehouse Coordinator to complete daily assignments.
  • Work outdoors in high temperatures, including loading and unloading heavy items such as cases of water during peak summer operations.
  • Safely lift, carry, and move donated items, including frequent lifting of 25-50 lbs and occasional lifting of heavier items with assistance.
  • Ride with the Distribution Driver to complete donation pick-ups, including loading and unloading items into a box truck.
  • Independently operate a second truck with assigned helper(s) to complete scheduled donation pick-ups when multiple routes are required.
  • Help maintain the warehouse by receiving donations and sorting donations according to established organizational structure.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to donors on pick-ups, at the warehouse, and during any other PRM events.
  • Reflecting Christ's love and planting seeds in interactions with all stakeholders.
  • Assist in box truck maintenance, including maintaining the truck log, reporting vehicle defects, and ensuring that regular maintenance is completed on the truck.
  • Demonstrate understanding and comply with all relevant legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements, company policies and procedures, and the Code of Ethical Conduct.
  • Follow the Mission's Statement of Faith and lifestyle and adhere to the Mission's employee policy manual and guidelines set forth by the CEO.
  • Lead or participate in devotions, prayers or other organization activities that promote a credible Christian witness and lifestyle.
  • Perform other duties within scope as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Driver's license and the ability to become and maintain being an approved driver.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in driving a box truck and/or commercial truck.
  • Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic laws and highway safety rules and regulations.
