Job Description

Scope of Position: 

Assist the team with the timely and accurate movement of goods in and out of the warehouse.  

Major Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Timely & accurate unloading/loading of trucks.
  • Accurate weighing and dimensioning of freight.
  • Operation of stand-up and sit-down forklifts 
  • Reports shortages, damages and/or discrepancies on appropriate forms.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operational system.
  • Compares quantity, labeling and address with order to ensure outgoing shipments are complete and correct. 
  • Accurate labeling of freight, zero cross-labels.
  • Proper putting away, picking, & staging freight, all freight must be put away into a location & accounted for (PUT’s & LDD)
  • Filling out documentation as required
  • Be able to identify and match numbers and country codes
  • Ability to interact with office to meet customer service standards.
  • Contribute to maintain good relationships with customers, zero mis-ships, cross labels or damage to customer freight.
  • Contributing to ensure a clean and safe warehouse environment, including Temperature Controlled Room.
  • May check in drivers in the ProxyClick system and verify their information (if trained to do so).
  • Understand department process flow, and looking for best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to read, count accurately, do simple math (add, subtract, divide, multiply) and write legibly.
  • Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis. Must be able to use proper lifting techniques with weights up to 40lbs. The ability to follow directions with emphasis on safety is extremely important. Must be able to handle stress caused in meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements. Must be able to shift priorities easily. Must be able to use hands and feet simultaneously and for repetitive movements.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
  • Organized and has good time management skills
  • Must have excellent work habits. Fork-lift certification and Security Threat Assessment will be required upon successful employment.
