Job description

Overview
We are seeking a full-time Planner 2 at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for performing semi-complex supply chain management relating to materials planning, purchasing, and manufacturing and provides input in the development of planning procedures.
Essential Functions
  • Full use and understanding of supply chain, systems, and processes used by area
  • Understands/owns accountability for department KPI's
  • Evaluates data for decision-making purposes/makes recommendations and commands supply chain processes defined in assigned area of responsibility
  • Recognizes issues, explores solutions, and provides timely responses
  • Applies Garmin's mission statement and quality policy, and exhibits enthusiasm for and a desire to see Garmin succeed
  • Actively contributes to discussions in team initiative toward goal resolution, provides guidance to Planner 1 associates, and plans own daily workload with ability to identify priorities
  • Plans finished goods manufacturing and distribution at Garmin production sites and Garmin distribution locations

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrates all the competencies of Planner 1
  • Understands/implements best practices and has a solid understanding of warehouse, manufacturing, and service processes
  • Demonstrated strong/effective/professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with ability to communicate with cross functional teams/customers
  • Intermediate applicable MS Office skills

Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
  • 5+ years experience in material management, production planning, purchasing or distribution preferably in electronics manufacturing
  • Previous project management or team facilitator experience
