Job description

Overview
ELECTRO RENT
Production Planner
Operations | Full-Time | Exempt | Onsite
Shape production priorities. Solve real-time operational challenges. Help deliver on customer commitments across multiple distribution centers.
The Opportunity
Electro Rent is looking for a Production Planner who enjoys turning competing priorities into clear, executable production plans. In this role, you will coordinate production activity across assigned distribution centers, balance customer commitments with capacity and inventory, and make day-to-day decisions that directly influence service, efficiency, backlog, and revenue. You will partner closely with Sales, Operations, Distribution, and Quality while working with meaningful independence and ownership.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do
  • Own production planning and coordination across assigned distribution centers, making operational decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Set production priorities by weighing customer commitments, capacity, inventory availability, service requirements, quality needs, and revenue impact.
  • Authorize customer orders for release into production based on operational readiness and business priorities.
  • Analyze labor, capacity, inventory constraints, and customer demand to build the most effective production sequence across facilities.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and competing priorities using sound business judgment, escalating matters that fall outside established authority.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, and Distribution leaders to align on order sequencing when customer or business needs compete.
  • Monitor backlog and proactively adjust schedules and priorities to support customer commitments, operational efficiency, and revenue objectives.
  • Create Work Order (WO) templates for customer, quality, and other production needs; assign the appropriate templates to sales orders.
  • Apply quality-planning tasks to orders and assets and contribute ideas that reduce process risk and improve execution.
  • Perform other related duties as business needs evolve.

Qualifications
What You Bring
  • Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize production activity, balance competing demands, and make decisions that affect customers and operational performance.
  • Knowledge of production planning, calibration, electronic test equipment, and process controls.
  • Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and collaborate effectively across functions.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset, including the ability to identify process risks and recommend practical mitigation actions.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Outlook and Office applications and learning or working within an ERP system.

Why Join Electro Rent?
We want our employees to have the support, resources, and opportunities they need to do great work and build rewarding careers. Depending on location and eligibility, Electro Rent offers:
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) retirement plan

  • Career development and advancement opportunities within a global organization
  • Training and professional development programs
  • Employee recognition and team-building programs
  • Collaborative, team-oriented work environment
  • Work-life balance and a culture that values life outside of work

Additional benefit plan details, eligibility requirements, and location-specific offerings will be shared during the recruiting process.
Compensation
