 AIPSO is a management organization and service provider for various insurance industry groups responsible for administering the residual market. We are a national organization that serves local customer needs. Centralization and standardization are key to many AIPSO services because of the inherent economies of scale and other efficiencies.  However, our organization is based on customer focus and recognizes the need for flexibility in serving customer groups with diverse interests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage the overall operation of assigned Plans, including supervision of employees, establishment of work priorities and maintenance of performance standards as determined by Home Office management.
  • Plan, develop, monitor, and assure compliance with each Plan’s/mechanism’s policy and procedures on such tasks at Plan/Facility language amendments, application processing, producer certification, data entry, LAD, audit, computer operations, production services, telephone and written inquiries.
  • Meet with staff on a regular basis to discuss progress of work, resolution of problematic issues/concerns, and ensure standards for quality and quantity are consistently met.
  • Develop and direct training programs for staff development.
  • Monitor and continually assesses workload/flow to properly adjust priorities and staff assignments, to ensure efficient operations (quantity and quality standards are consistently met).
  • Monitor call distribution system, review logs, reports and any other pertinent material necessary to detect recurring slowdowns, areas of concern, or errors.  Once identified, propose and then implement an action plan to rectify such matters. 
  • Consult with ISPS staff to solve/resolve problems impeding computer and operational processing.
  • Prepare material regarding matters on appeal for inclusion in Board of Governors, Governing Committee, Subcommittee, or Task Force agendas.
  • May prepare reports for Governing Committee/Board of Governors, Subcommittee and Task Force meetings as needed.  May attend Governing Committee/Board of Governors meetings as needed.
  • May represent the Plan at deposition, court cases and Insurance Department hearings, when necessary.

Education
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university with supplementary insurance education preferred.  Additional appropriate experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. INS, IIA, API, AIM, CPCU, other insurance designations, and/or property/casualty licenses preferred.  Demonstrated commitment to ongoing insurance education.
Experience
5 or more years’ experience in the automobile insurance industry.  Prior supervisory experience required.  Customer service, policy processing and underwriting experience are preferred.   
Skills & Knowledge
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel) to manage work.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, including ability to analyze complex issues, find the root cause of the problem, and consider a wide range of alternatives before acting.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or individuals.
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and interact professionally and effectively in a team environment.
  • Provide leadership by example through feedback and input in group meetings and discussions.
  • Knowledge of the residual market automobile industry preferred, including knowledge of automobile insurance plan rules and regulations preferred.

Salary Range: $84,500 - $134,900 Annual.  Actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; internal equity and other conditions of employment.
