Distribution Clerk
Job Summary
The Distribution Clerk provides administrative and clerical support for distribution center operations. This role is responsible for processing shipping and receiving paperwork, maintaining inventory records, coordinating transportation documentation, and ensuring accurate data entry to support efficient warehouse and logistics activities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Process and maintain shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
  • Enter and update data in warehouse management and inventory systems.
  • Prepare shipping documents, bills of lading, invoices, and delivery paperwork.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff, carriers, and customers regarding shipments and deliveries.
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and inquiries related to distribution operations.
  • Monitor inventory reports and assist with resolving discrepancies.
  • File and organize distribution records and documents.
  • Schedule deliveries and track outbound shipments.
  • Generate reports for management on inventory, shipping, and receiving activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide general administrative support to distribution center management.

Other Responsibilities May Include
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
  • Process inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
  • Load and unload trucks using appropriate warehouse equipment.
  • Label, sort, and store products in designated warehouse locations.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous clerical, administrative, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong data entry and record-keeping skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Warehouse or distribution experience is often preferred, although it may not be mandatory.
  • Forklift/material-handling experience can be an advantage for distribution work.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, stay organized, and work independently or as part of a team.

  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of a warehouse environment, which can include standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
