Position Description:
The Area Manager monitors and effectively leads the daily routines and specific tasks of assigned shifts and associates, as instructed by the Operations Manager. He/she manages a team of associates to ensure the facility meets and integrates with Company's requirements for quality management, effective loading/unloading of trailers and containers, compliance with health and safety, legal requirements, environmental policies, and general care of duties. Coordinates all assigned warehousing activities with management and administration. Champions safe working conditions and monitors associates to ensure safe operation of power industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Champion safe working conditions, monitor associates to ensure compliance with safety protocols, and promote the safe operation of equipment within the distribution center.
  • Conduct daily huddles to communicate work expectations, deliverables, and foster engagement, promoting the iCare culture among associates.
  • Coordinate warehousing activities with management and administrative staff, providing logistics tracking updates to inbound coordinators through daily production reports.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, health and safety regulations, legal requirements, and environmental policies within the distribution center.
  • Facilitate onboarding for new associates; coach, motivate, and evaluate team members; investigate complaints or performance issues, and implement disciplinary actions in consultation with field human resources.
  • Manage maintenance of the facility, product handling equipment, and inventory warehousing control systems to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Manage warehouse associates in organizing labor for loading/unloading, operating forklifts and industrial equipment, picking materials, staging products, conducting periodic inventory checks, and ensuring proper shipment via third-party carriers.
  • Plan and lead warehousing activities in collaboration with management and administration to achieve daily production goals and ensure quality delivery.
  • Provide leadership and manage day-to-day activities for warehouse associates across different shifts, ensuring operational standards and productivity goals are met.
  • Recruit, select, train, and mentor associates to foster their development and growth within the distribution center.
  • Supervise and maintain records via warehouse management systems for the receipt, storage, and distribution of equipment, supplies, and specialty items within the distribution center.
