Job description

Emerald Carpets is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Operations Manager to lead key operational functions in our vertically integrated carpet manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing Planning & Scheduling, Logistics & Supply Chain, and Vendor & Supplier Management. The Senior Operations Manager will drive operational excellence, optimize efficiency, and support on-time delivery for our trade show, exhibition, and special events flooring solutions. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this position plays a key role in achieving production targets, cost control, and continuous improvement while upholding our commitment to American-made quality and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams in Planning & Scheduling, Logistics & Supply Chain, and Vendor/Supplier Management. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Planning & Scheduling: Oversee production planning, demand forecasting, and scheduling processes to align manufacturing output with customer requirements, minimize downtime, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Logistics & Supply Chain: Manage end-to-end logistics, inventory levels, warehousing, and distribution to achieve on-time and in-full delivery while controlling costs and reducing waste.
  • Vendor & Supplier Management: Lead supplier selection, negotiation, performance monitoring, and relationship management to ensure reliable sourcing of materials, cost competitiveness, and adherence to quality and sustainability standards.
  • Operational Excellence: Identify and implement process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to on-time delivery, inventory turns, cost per unit, and safety. Prepare reports and recommendations for the Director of Operations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Production, Sales, Finance, and other departments to support business goals and resolve operational issues.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all operations comply with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive operations experience in manufacturing (carpet, flooring, textile, or similar industry experience strongly preferred).
  • 4+ years in a leadership role managing multiple teams, ideally including planning/scheduling, logistics, and supply chain functions.
  • Proven track record of driving operational improvements, cost savings, and KPI achievement.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ERP systems, and inventory management principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in vendor negotiations and supplier development.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability practices.
