Job description

Responsible for assisting the DC manager in directing the day to day operations of a single distribution center. Communicate extensively with the distribution center manager on all matters pertaining to the operation of DC.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist the DC manager to oversee all aspects of a single distribution center, including the service, physical assets, operating costs, and team members.

Assist in ensuring day to day that the DC is compliant with company operations, policies and procedures.

Assist the DC manager to maintain payroll, budgeting, inventory integrity, productivity, etc.

Provide training, guidance, and counseling as needed to each DC team member.

Responsible for the management of a staff of 1-15 supervisors, and up to 300 hourly team members.

Provide excellent leadership throughout the DC and work to ensure productivity and morale are maintained at a high level.

Work with the DC manager to establish annual goals and the plan to follow for accomplishing these goals.

Work closely with DC manager and human resources to support team members and others as needed to ensure effective recruiting, hiring, and training practices.

Responsible for on time evaluations of all team members.

Assist the DC manager with planning to prepare annual operating budget.

Work with each supervisor to monitor expenditures within the department, and coordinate with the DC manager for approval on any expenditure.

Work with the DC manager to obtain approval on all expenses which exceed $1,000.

Provide a safe working environment and aggressively manage all risk and risk related costs.

All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

High school graduate or equivalent (GED)

Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Above average computer skills

2+ years' experience as a distribution center supervisor with proven record of success

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple departments within one center

Desired:

College degree or logistics certification

Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
