The Role
We are seeking a Transmission & Distribution Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams supporting electric utility transmission and distribution projects. This role combines technical leadership, team development, and project oversight to deliver high-quality line design solutions for utility clients.
What Your Day Will Look Like
  • Lead and manage teams responsible for transmission and distribution line design, including engineers and designers.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of electric utility line projects, ensuring quality standards, client requirements, and project timelines are met.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship, particularly related to QA/QC processes and engineering best practices.
  • Coordinate with clients and internal teams to monitor project progress, address challenges, and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Assist with resource planning and project staffing to ensure teams are effectively allocated across active projects.
  • Review and approve distribution and transmission line design packages, including various scopes, voltage levels, and structure types.
  • Support supervisors in identifying training needs and professional development opportunities for engineering staff.
  • Collaborate with leadership and business development teams to identify opportunities for department growth and new projects.
  • Participate in client meetings, capability presentations, and business development discussions as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
What You'll Bring to the Familia
Essentials to Succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in electric utility line design or a related engineering field.
  • Experience with transmission and/or distribution line engineering projects.
  • Proficiency with PLS-CADD and other line design software such as PoleForeman, SPIDAcalc, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards including NESC, IEEE, RUS, ASCE, and ACI.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentorship skills with the ability to guide and develop engineering teams.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license strongly preferred.
