Job Description
We are looking for a Distribution Center Inventory & Locations Specialist to join our Platt team in Sumner, WA!
Summary:
The Distribution Center Inventory & Locations Specialist is responsible for the item product shelf slotting. Maintains shelf accuracy of product in the distribution center and helps to resolve product related problems to meet company standards of safety, security, and productivity. The Distribution Center Inventory & Locations Specialist is also responsible for providing improvement suggestions for rack layout, product location slotting, Warehouse Management Software (WMS), process, and system changes. Will assist with all customer service activities as related to the distribution center interface, such as responding to inquiries, processing orders, and handling complaints in a prompt, courteous, and effective manner.
What You'll Do:
  • Must behave consistently with the Company's Core Competencies, Polices, Procedures, guidelines, and focus on safety
  • Assign product to appropriate rack (or storage) type, distribution center zone, area and location within the zone, and final shelf location on the rack
  • Follow the overall distribution center plan for product based on product characteristics, size, weight, shipping demand, re-order frequency, pick sequence, and user (stocker, picker) ergonomics
  • Ensure the plan design provides the shortest pick path for any order and the least amount of vertical movement by user. Where possible, maintain similar product characteristic in vendor diverse locations
  • Utilizing both Radio Frequency (RF) hand-held devices and Warehouse Management Software (WMS) dashboard screens, perform zone re-profile, location maintenance, and product location "slotting" based on item movement and distribution center "slotting" model, new product processing, vendor returns, scrap inventory processing, exception reports (variances, negative, zero & shorts) cycle counting, and lost and found product
  • Communicate with vendor buyers about any issues, concerns or needed corrections to item inventory or product
  • Assist with all inventory control tasks accurately and in timely manner per business requirements
  • Report any damage to electronic hardware, material handling equipment, or the warehouse immediately to management
  • Professional interaction with peers and coworkers that promotes a collaborative work environment
  • Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety and complies with OSHA safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned

  • 1+ years of experience in inventory control or high-volume Warehouse or Distribution Center
  • Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment preferred
  • High School or GED - Required

  • Ability to create, understand, and maintain spreadsheets in relation to product re-profile projects such as elevations, locations, velocity
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to perform remote work via Warehouse Management Software (WMS) or travel if needed
