ROLE OVERVIEW

The Distribution Center (DC) Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient warehouse operations, leading teams to meet productivity goals, maintaining safety standards, and fostering continuous improvement. Supervisors assist managers and oversee daily distribution center functions within their respective departments. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to maintain operational excellence and a productive work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • DC Supervisors may work across various departments based on business needs. Work shifts can include early starts, late finishes, weekends, and overtime during peak periods. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist department managers in overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and safety standards are met. 
  • Monitor and evaluate team productivity while maintaining personal performance that meets or exceeds department expectations.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to team members under the direction of the department manager.
  • Adapt to an ever-changing environment and lead teams through operational challenges.
  • Lead by example to enforce safety regulations and ensure compliance throughout the distribution center.
  • Communicate operational updates, progress reports, and performance results to leadership in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Promote and enforce adherence to DC policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application across teams.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and assist with compliance monitoring. 
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment in collaboration with department managers.

Education & Experience Requirements 

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Experience in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Prior training or leadership background is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on guiding, mentoring, and developing team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic warehouse environment. 
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is beneficial.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications for operating warehouse equipment.
