The Region Safety Manager manages a variety of quality review and compliance programs, ensuring that employees are trained timely and in accordance to company standards. This position requires extensive travel approximately 50% of the time within the assigned region.

Responsibilities
  • Oversight of the Samsara telematics program, including device deployment and configuration, driver behavior monitoring (harsh braking, speeding, distracted driving), GPS/asset tracking, and HOS/ELD compliance, using data-driven insights to drive coaching initiatives and reduce fleet-related incidents.
  • Reduce musculoskeletal injury rates through proactive ergonomic assessments, possible task redesign, and targeted employee training.
  • Responsible for oversight of the overall Ferrellgas/Blue Rhino technical training program within Blue Rhino Distribution. Includes the following areas: initial, refresher, OJTs, Certified Skills Evaluator Program (CSE), Certified Driver Program (CDT).
  • Manages Blue Rhino Distribution Quality Review program. Responsible for performing Safety Audits, oversees the Service Center Checklist Program, and monitors the documentation process to ensure all safety related programs are in compliance.
  • Manages Blue Rhino Distribution Compliance program including:
    • DOT
      • FMCSA
      • ELD / HOS
      • Driver
      • Vehicle
    • PHMSA
      • Cylinders
    • OSHA
    • DHS
    • Safety Technologies
  • Provides guidance to Field Management on ways to improve Service Center "Safety" deficiency trends.
  • Participates in the due diligence assessments for acquisition candidates.
  • Acts as an expert concerning the Safety and Technical Support sections , and any local regulations. (NFPA, IFC, State and local Government)
  • Participates in any new policy development related to Blue Rhino Distribution.
  • Provides technical assistance as needed to field locations.
  • Conducts incident investigations..
  • Assists Corporate Safety with administration and monitoring of DHS Programs in the region.
  • Member of the EAC.
  • Completes special projects as assigned by Corporate Safety periodically.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Propane experience.
  • Class B CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements required.
  • Working knowledge of DOT guidelines and regulations.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Demonstrates ability to implement and manage compliance requirements.
  • Ability to study, learn, and apply code requirements as needed.
  • Highly motivated individual.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Ability to formulate and direct data analyses pertaining to field operations processes to identify problems and resolutions.
  • Experience taking care of assets.
  • Ability to plan in detail and communicate the detailed plan.
  • Ability to organize and motivate in leading by example.
  • Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment and consistently meet tight deadlines
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
