ABOUT THE ROLE
Crescent Foods is seeking an experienced and results-driven Logistics and Warehouse Manager to oversee all warehouse operations, inventory management, transportation logistics, and distribution activities. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient product flow from production through customer delivery while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with expertise in warehouse management, transportation coordination, inventory accuracy, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position may require employees to work non-traditional hours (nights, weekends, and holidays) to successfully meet customers’ needs.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
Warehouse Operations
  • Manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping activities.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, rotation, and distribution of fresh, frozen, and refrigerated food products.
  • Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Optimize warehouse layout, storage utilization, and workflow efficiency.
  • Monitor productivity and implement process improvements to enhance operational performance.
Logistics amp; Transportation
  • Oversee inbound and outbound transportation activities to ensure timely deliveries and cost-effective freight management.
  • Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, customers, and internal departments to support efficient product movement.
  • Monitor transportation performance metrics and resolve delivery issues proactively.
  • Manage third-party logistics providers and carrier relationships.
  • Negotiate with brokers on contacts, routes, costs, etc.
  • Analyze freight costs and identify opportunities for savings and service improvements.
Inventory Management
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation processes.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production, procurement, and sales teams to meet customer demand.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage inventory control procedures, lot tracking, and product traceability requirements.
Food Safety amp; Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, OSHA, HACCP, SQF, GMP, and company food safety standards.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records required for audits and inspections.
  • Lead warehouse readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Promote a culture of food safety, quality, and workplace safety throughout the operation.
Leadership amp; Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse and logistics team members.
  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, performance evaluations, and employee development plans.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Reporting amp; Performance Management
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) including:
    • Inventory accuracy
    • Order accuracy
    • On-time shipments
    • Transportation costs
    • Warehouse productivity
    • Safety performance
  • Prepare and present operational reports to leadership.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems to analyze performance and support decision-making.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution management.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing warehouse and logistics teams.
  • Experience within food manufacturing, food distribution, cold storage, or consumer packaged goods environments.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and warehouse operations.
  • Experience with ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in USDA-inspected or food manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of Halal food production and distribution practices.
  • APICS, CSCP, CLTD, or similar supply chain certification.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
