Job description

Description:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating/overseeing the shipping and receiving of finished goods, packaging and raw material(s), machinery, etc to and from Amneal facilities and its affiliates, domestic and international. This position assists in the daily logistics of the company, while providing feedback to the Supervisor of Logistics.


Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates daily activity to track location and movement of inventory, finished goods, packaging and raw material(s), machinery, etc via rail cars, barges, trucks, and other forms of transportation.
  • Obtains shipping rates for all transportation requests to ensure the most cost effective, secure, and timely manner.
  • Coordinates international shipping processes; ensures clearance, delivery, etc for in and out bound shipments. Works directly with Freight Forwarders, Brokers, etc to ensure process is smooth from Shipper to Consignee.
  • Utilizes various transportation provider software systems to facilitate material movement planning and scheduling.
  • Prepares and updates monthly reports, and updates Supervisor on any issues.
  • Verifies shipping quotes, domestic and international, to ensure cost efficiency and accuracy.
  • Re-routes freight as needed to meet demands and minimize costs.
  • Supports/backs-up Inventory Control as needed.
  • Supports the development, implementation, and execution of the transportation/logistics software as needed.
  • Provides support to multiple departments within the organization as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with all state, federal, environmental, safety, and hazardous waste regulations.
  • Communicates fulfillment status and/or issues within the organization to points including Logistics Management, Sales, and Customer Service.
  • Maintains documentation and ratings on carriers such as Cargo Liability Certificates, Hazmat Certification, Safety Ratings, Interstate Commerce Authority, etc.
