Salary Range: $101,000 – $138,000

Position Summary
Astyra is recruiting for a Service Center Manager on behalf of our client in the transportation and freight industry. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day service center operations, managing operational performance, and leading managers and supervisors.
The Service Center Manager works closely with the management team to achieve productivity, service, and quality objectives while identifying opportunities to improve operational performance. The position also plays an important role in employee development, customer relationships, and ensuring the service center effectively responds to changing business and operational needs.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on leader who can manage people, analyze operational performance, solve problems, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can lead and develop managers and supervisors, balance multiple operational priorities, and maintain strong customer relationships. Experience in transportation, freight, logistics, distribution, dock operations, or a similar operational environment is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day service center operations and provide leadership to managers and supervisors.
  • Review operational performance and staffing plans to ensure appropriate driver and route allocation.
  • Analyze planned versus actual performance to identify service issues, root causes, and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Monitor dock operations and support adherence to established freight handling and operating procedures.
  • Lead and develop managers, supervisors, and employees to support individual and team performance.
  • Participate in new hire orientation and communicate company expectations, policies, service standards, and productivity goals.
  • Communicate corporate policies and service center work rules to the management team.
  • Manage customer relationships, address service issues, and support customer retention.
  • Participate in sales discussions to understand customer requirements and provide operational expertise.
  • Collaborate with service center leadership to develop and implement action plans that improve productivity, service, and quality results.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple operational priorities.
  • Must have LTL experience
  • Ability to analyze operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, operations-driven environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Management experience in transportation, freight, logistics, distribution, or a similar operational environment.
  • Previous experience leading managers and supervisors.
  • Previous dock operations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
