DISTRIBUTION DRIVER
Location: Newark, DE
Sobieski Enterprises, Inc. is looking to hire a full-time Driver in the Newark, DE to deliver HVAC and plumbing material using a 26' Box Truck, (53' as needed). A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DISTRIBUTION DRIVER
As a Driver / Materials Delivery, you are a team player that partners with warehouse, supply center, and field workers to get the job done right.You deliver valuable equipment and building materials to our job sites in the Mid-Atlantic region using a Sobieski 26' Box Truck. Sobieski also owns a few 53' trailers - Commercial CDL license is preferred. Your role is invaluable to ensuring our field teams are able to meet customer demand and complete jobs on time. You drive building materials from the warehouses to job sites as well as bring new supplies, equipment, and unused materials to the warehouses. Always happy to help, you assist with loading and unloading the truck. You get great satisfaction out of facilitating the successful completion of construction projects with the right materials at the right place at the right time!
You always maintain contact with the Logistics Coordinator to receive the delivery or pick up directions. With attention to detail, you load against the run sheets and receipts for delivery or pick up. You work efficiently while strictly adhering to all traffic and safety regulations. You perform daily and weekly inspections of your truck as required by DOT and company policies. This includes ensuring that all fluids are properly filled as well as that all vehicle instruments, devices, and mechanical operations are working properly. You also safely operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, and other equipment. Though you love being on the move and driving for a living, you also appreciate that you never have to be far from home for long.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DRIVER / MATERIALS DELIVERY
  • Good driving record
  • Commercial Drivers license preffered.
  • Basic math skills required to manage inventory, (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly and a willingness to help load and unload trucks
  • Ability and willingness to be out in all kinds of weather
  • Ability to read and write English fluently
  • Ability to read maps and operate GPS systems
  • Happy to drive all day long

Distribution center experience is preferred but not required. Are you energetic and reliable? Do you have integrity? DRIVING WORK SCHEDULE
No over the road (OTR) work required! The core schedule for this full-time distribution center delivery job is Sunday - Thursday, 6:00 AM until finished with the capacity to work a flexible schedule, including overtime as needed.
