Job description

Job Title

Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Clear and valid commercial Texas driver's license (Class A or B - unrestricted).
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • One (1) year experience driving commercial vehicles.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to work independently.

Terms Of Employment:

260 days

Salary/Paygrade:

$20.08/HS-8

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board Of Trustees

Essential Functions:

  • Make daily deliveries of materials and supplies as routed using a district delivery truck.
  • Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment and assist in moving and storage of materials as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of items picked up and delivered.
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles, equipment, and work area per applicable regulations and district standards.
  • Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment in safe operating condition and schedule routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.
  • Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the supervisor immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Distribution Center Manager or his designee.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching; heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and inside; work around machinery with moving parts; work around moving objects or vehicles; work on ladders and scaffolding. Exposure to dampness and humidity and slippery or uneven walking surfaces.
