Job description

On our team, you will provide stellar care at one of the top healthcare organizations in the nation.

As a Central Distribution Associate, you will play an important role in keeping the hospital running smoothly by planning, organizing, and controlling the movement of materials throughout the hospital. You will answer and direct calls, complete computer input of phone requests and requisitions as directed by the supervisor, and accurately fill supply and equipment requests. You will ensure supplies and equipment are delivered promptly according to assigned schedules and help keep essential materials moving where they are needed most. You will also pick up and deliver mail to the Mail Room and Medical Records and Health Information Services, contributing to the efficient flow of information throughout the hospital.

A caregiver in this position works days 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.including rotating weekend and holiday requirements. When scheduled on the weekend, a caregiver may choose 2 off days during the week.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Answer clear and/or direct phone calls from the Materials Management Department.
  • Assist patient care staff with identification of supply needs.
  • Maintain scheduled orders and deliveries on time.
  • Pick-up and delivery mail to the Mail Room and Medical Records to Health Information Services
  • Complete data entry and retrieval of information within computer system.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • One year of experience working with patient care supplies and equipment

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to sixty (60) pounds.
  • Must be able to manipulate carts in high traffic areas including elevators.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
