Job description

Responsible for the timely and accurate fulfilment of all activity related to Loans, Rentals and Consignment (LRC process)

What will you be doing?

  • Execute the LRC end-to-end distribution process of all ASD loans and AWM Rentals in compliance of Quality Management Standards and Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Inspecting and minor functional testing of Surgical Equipment and Consumables Sets, Control Units and Rental AWM Pump.

  • Cleaning, inspecting, packaging, sterilizing, and distributing of instruments and implants used for surgical procedures across all surgical specialties

  • Daily Inbound receiving of Loan sets and Rental kits, unpacking, scanning and checking the relevant documents are supplied before passing on to inspection and cleaning.

  • Daily Outbound Picking, Scanning, Shipping of Loan sets, Rental kits and Workshop kits

  • Liaise with commercial team, health care professionals, couriers and operation team in coordinating all loan and rental activity.

  • Assist Supply Chain Management with system reporting, investigating complaints, internal /external audits, CAPA related activities, Data management, and dealing with Operational Systems -SAP/MyMediset/Move Medical.

  • Support Leadership and Management in continuous LEAN improvements and training activities in all aspects of Loan, Rental & Consignment processes in accordance with company cultural pillars of Care, Courage, and Collaboration.

  • Coordinate, evaluate and put-away physically and systemically of instrument consignment returns.

  • Be part of an 'on call' rotation for emergency out of hours distribution activity, specifically courier shipping arrangements, pick, check and dispatch of Loan sets and rental kit

  • Maintains an accurate inventory of all kits including part numbers and quality control numbers. Processes bills to customers and updates inventory kits to ensure availability to the sale forces.

  • Interfaces with professional etiquette with distributors, sales force, management, and colleagues within Smith & Nephew

  • Periodical monitoring and follow up on Late Loaners with the commercial team.

  • Assignment of Ad-hoc duties (cycle counts, reorganization, replenishments orders, purchasing consumables i.e. computer supplies and shipping boxes etc)

What will you need to be successful?

Education:

  • Secondary Education or higher

Experience:

  • Computer literacy with sound knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • MyMediSet, Move Medical, and SAP system experience an asset.
  • 2-4 years of experience in similar orthopaedic loan set role with knowledge of surgical instruments and/or experience working within a medical device healthcare setting an asset
  • 2-4 years of previous distribution and/or warehousing experience

Physical Demands:

  • Role may be physically challenging at times, necessary to work on your feet and being hands on.
  • Manual handling up to 50 lbs.

Travel Requirements:

  • <10%
  • On call responsibility on weekends per business needs.

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $42,750.00 - $64,250.00 CAD annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew.

Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. In addition to base pay, we provide competitive bonus and benefits, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage, RRSP, tuition reimbursement, medical leave programs, parental leave, and generous PTO, paid company holidays annually and 8 hours of Volunteer time and a variety of wellness offerings such as the Employee Assistance Program.
