Job description

Built on meritocracy, our unique company culture rewards self-starters and those who are committed to doing what is best for our customers. Brown & Brown is seeking an Asset Manager to join our growing team in Daytona Beach, FL or Plano, TX! The Asset Manager owns the enterprise hardware IT Asset Management function from end to end: the policy and standards that govern it, and the day-to-day operations that run it. This role is the single accountable owner for hardware asset record accuracy and for the effective daily execution of asset lifecycle operations across a distributed, acquisition-driven environment supporting 20,000+ teammates across 500+ locations. The role oversees all hardware assets from end user devices like laptops to network and infrastructure assets.

How You Will Contribute
  • Hardware asset management operations (primary focus)
    • Own the daily and weekly reconciliation cycle between infrastructure asset discovery data, endpoint management tooling, procurement records, and the ServiceNow asset record, and resolve the exceptions it produces.
    • Manage the asset exception and aging queue to defined thresholds, working directly with field services, service desk, system administrators, engineering teams and partner technicians to close open items.
    • Track and drive resolution of unaccounted, missing, and stale assets, including direct follow-up with teammates, managers, and locations.
    • Maintain accurate stock and spare inventory positions across staging locations, including counts, thresholds, and replenishment triggers.
    • Personally verify and correct asset assignment, location, and status data, including physical or remote verification where discovery data is unavailable or inconsistent.
    • Process and validate receiving, deployment, transfer, return, and disposal transactions, ensuring records are updated within defined service levels rather than in batches.
    • Build and produce the recurring asset reporting directly, including the reconciliation, accuracy, aging, and recovery reports.
  • Governance and policy
    • Own the enterprise IT asset management policy, standards, and process documentation, including lifecycle stages, approval gates, and data ownership definitions.
    • Define and enforce the asset record data model in ServiceNow, including required attributes, ownership assignment, and status transitions.
    • Establish the interface between the asset record and the configuration management database, maintaining clear separation between asset and configuration item ownership.
    • Chair a recurring asset governance forum with procurement, finance, security, and infrastructure representation.
  • Data integrity and reconciliation
    • Own asset data accuracy as a measured outcome, with published reconciliation rates and defined remediation paths for exceptions.
    • Drive automated discovery and reconciliation between endpoint/discovery management tooling and ServiceNow, reducing dependence on manual inventory.
    • Establish periodic and automated audit and physical verification procedures for locations and asset classes where automated discovery is not available.
  • Lifecycle management
    • Own the end-to-end lifecycle process from requisition through receiving, deployment, transfer, recovery, and certified disposal.
    • Maintain chain of custody and disposal documentation sufficient to satisfy internal audit and regulatory requirements.
    • Partner with procurement and finance on refresh planning, capital forecasting, and depreciation alignment.
    • Define standards and controls for the recovery of assets at termination, transfer, and location closure.
  • Mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
    • Own the asset onboarding playbook for acquired entities, including discovery, record creation, standards conformance, and remediation timelines.
    • Serve as the asset management representative at integration planning, ensuring asset data requirements are captured before cutover rather than after.
    • Support divestiture and separation events with asset segregation and transfer documentation.
  • Reporting and financial stewardship
    • Publish an asset management scorecard covering record accuracy, lifecycle compliance, recovery rates, and cost per asset.
    • Provide the asset data foundation for security posture reporting, audit response, and technology spend decisions.
    • Identify and quantify cost avoidance opportunities from improved recovery, redeployment, and refresh discipline.
Licenses & Certifications

ITAM certification (IAITAM CHAMP, CITAM, or equivalent) or ITIL certification.

Skills & Experience to be Successful
  • Five or more years in IT asset management, IT operations, or a closely related discipline, including ownership of asset data in an enterprise tool.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing or operating ITAM in ServiceNow, including the asset module and its relationship to the CMDB.
  • Working knowledge of endpoint management and discovery tooling and how discovery data is normalized into an asset record.
  • Track record of establishing process and holding cross-functional teams accountable to it without direct authority.
  • Experience in a distributed, multi-site environment.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to operate handsโ€‘on in the detail, including transactional record work, reconciliation, and direct followโ€‘up with end users and technicians.
  • This role has no support staff.
  • Strong practical data skills, including Excel at an advanced level and the ability to build reports and reconcile large data sets without relying on a reporting team.
  • Preferred Experience in an acquisitive environment with recurring integration of new entities.
  • Exposure to hardware asset financial management, including depreciation, leasing, and refresh forecasting.
  • Experience supporting internal audit or regulatory examination requests using asset data.
Teammate Benefits & Total Well-Being
  • Health Benefits: Medical/Rx, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance
  • Financial Benefits: ESPP; 401k; Student Loan Assistance; Tuition Reimbursement
  • Mental Health & Wellness: Free Mental Health & Enhanced Advocacy Services
  • Beyond Benefits: Paid Time Off, Holidays, Preferred Partner Discounts and more.
  • Not reflective of all benefits.
  • Enrollment waiting periods or eligibility criteria may apply to certain benefits.
  • Benefit details and offerings may vary for subsidiary entities or in specific geographic locations.
