Job description


JOB SCOPE

At Wynn’s we all strive to be ‘Chicken Experts,’ and to us that means owning your individual role that contributes to delivering unparalleled blends and service to our customers.

As a critical member of our Maintenance team, and ‘Maintenance Expert’ you will support the upkeep of our state-of-the-art blending facility.

In this role you will report to a maintenance lead and will be responsible for assisting with the management of maintenance and safety operations. Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, repair, and upkeep of company facilities utilities, structures, manufacturing equipment, company vehicle fleet, material handling equipment, hazardous waste management, security and fire suppression systems, and pest management.

You will support company safety policies and procedures, employee safety training, adherence, and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory safety guidelines.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment or related maintenance experience is required; familiarity with Safe Quality Food (SQF) quality standards is beneficial.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and programming robotic systems and systems operated by PLC Programable Logic Controls; familiarity with PLC Programming is a plus.
  • Minimum of two years' industrial electrical experience, including experience with 480 V 3 Phase systems; ability to use test equipment such as clamp-on ammeters and multimeters.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and schematics (Electrical and Pneumatic).
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical system breakdowns; experience with powered lift equipment repair and maintenance is a plus.
  • Ability to operate hand, power, and specialized tools to adjust, and calibrate for repairs, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers, Microsoft Windows, and Office Professional software; understanding of database and spreadsheet applications; knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) preferred.
  • Ability to service and maintain equipment, including motors, conveyor systems, and transmission systems; ability to inspect and assess the functionality of production-related equipment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are preferred; ability to work independently under general supervision; availability to work a varied schedule as required; possess good time management skills.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Perform skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repairs of building components, production systems and equipment, and ancillary areas.
  • Conduct preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance, carrying out the assigned daily, weekly, and monthly duties of the company preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.

Troubleshooting and Repairs:

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies to minimize production disruptions.
  • Utilize technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Maintain company vehicle fleet and material handling equipment in an operational state of readiness.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and equipment upgrades to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance activities.
  • Install new equipment or machines needed for production or maintenance support.
  • Participate in root cause problem-solving and troubleshooting issues.
