Job Description

The Control Room Operator reports to the Shift Supervisor and will operate the systems in the control room. They will monitor all system conditions and co-ordinate all system and operation related activities. The Control Room Operator will report all system faults and breakdowns to Maintenance Technicians accurately, to minimize system downtime and log all information that causes system stoppage. This role will support the BEUMER Individual Carrier System (ICS) at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the execution of the operational procedures for specific tasks during normal operations or during system failure.
  • Supply accurate fault reports and system breakdowns to technical staff for quick fault resolution.
  • Complete handover report during shift changes.
  • Maintain contact with the operations staff in the field to inform them of any operational problems that require intervention.
  • Liaise with management regarding daily operations.
  • Maintain contact with other stakeholders of the BHS to manage the daily problems or questions related to system operation.
  • Monitor system performance (system baggage flow).
  • Monitor manual encoder operator performance.
  • Technical and procedural training to manual encoding operators in performing their duties.
  • Elaboration of the operation shift report.
  • Analysis of eventual problems to determine corrective actions possible to prevent their future appearance.
  • Carry out other assignments as requested from management or shift supervisors.

Compensation Range: $23.00-$25.44 hourly

The posted range reflects the compensation the company reasonably expects to offer for this position. Actual compensation will not be less than the posted minimum and will be based on multiple factors.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of work experience in baggage handling systems and/or automated systems in material handling industries, operations and maintenance
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain airside security clearance.
  • Operates in a fast-paced airport setting with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and variable temperatures.
  • Requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as part of a rotating shift schedule.
  • Frequent walking, climbing, bending, heavy lifting, and standing across large terminal and baggage areas.
  • High-Level control (SAC) skills
  • Software documentation and IT network knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
  • Team player, personable and a winning attitude
