Job description

About this role:
As a Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for contributing to the fabrication and distribution processes of high-quality products. You will work alongside dedicated teams in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your technical skills and experience to complete in-process and final inspections, operate machinery, perform assembly tasks, and ensure quality standards are met. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our production processes. Work will be completed in a contained work cell and will cross-train on other operations in the cell to provide support as needed.
Statement of work:
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and work instructions in the completion of daily activities with minimal input and supervision to ensure successful accomplishment of company objectives.
  • Perform receiving inspections to verify that incoming parts and materials meet requirements and are suitable for use.
  • Document, identify, and segregate nonconforming product.
  • Document Supplier Information Requests (SIR) for missing or incorrect documentation.
  • Perform visual and/or dimensional inspections of mid to large volumes of similar parts to ensure product conformity to specified requirements.
  • Follow appropriate sampling plans per direction in Procedures, Work Instructions, and Job Operations
  • Document inspection results, measurements, and other relevant data accurately.
  • Interact with other employees and departments in a professional manner in addressing product quality and related issues.
  • Provide other departments with information and assistance to support them in accomplishing their objectives.
  • Contribute to and participate in improvement activities within the Quality Control Inspector 2 department and the company.
  • Follow procedures and work instructions as written and recommend improvements as necessary.
  • Perform any other task/activity assigned by the supervisor within the scope of Company business.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per the Sealing Devices Quality System.

What you will need to succeed:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree is preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in inspection preferred.
  • ASQ Certified Mechanical Inspector preferred

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time while performing detailed inspections and working at inspection stations.
  • Regularly required to lift, carry, and move materials or product up to 50 pounds, occasional lifting of heavier items with assistance.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle small parts, operate measuring instruments, and input data into computer systems.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and arms during part handling and equipment use.
  • Requires close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus for precision inspection tasks.
  • Must be able to hear verbal instructions, alarms, and signals in a manufacturing environment.
  • Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, turning, or crouching to retrieve or position parts and materials.
  • Ability to work in both office and production environments, which may involve moderate noise levels, temperature variation, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.

Salary ranges for this position are determined based upon the job location and can be adjusted based upon experience, reflecting our commitment to valuing the expertise and contributions of our individual team members.
